Four Calling Birds
'Frightmare Before Christmas'
Position: Artistic Director, Designer
'Frightmare Before Christmas' a haunted attraction created by Penn State School of Theatre based on the traditional Christmas carol, 'The Twelve days of Christmas', this haunted walking tour took patrons through the 13 terrifying nights before the twelve days of Christmas
This room is a twist on 'Four Calling Birds'
Guests enter a long hallway created with corrugated walls and lined with cages. The cages rattle and shake and guests hear crows calling from all around, the hall way is very dark apart from a few over head lights that flash and flicker, in the distance at the end of the hallway there is an actor dressed as a strange large bird, it is obvious as the actor moves that the creepy bird is wounded, and the thing makes strange dragging noises. Guests are forced to go towards the bird/ thing however because there is no other way out of the hallway. As they approach the bird/thing they are surprised by pneumatic rattling cages and claws that pop out of the darkness. Just as they are about to reach the bird who is becoming more restless as the guests approach, guests can make a sharp turn left to safety and escape the creature.
